June 19th, 2009

As an organization dedicated to supporting local business efforts and giving back to the community, we would like to invite our friends and business associates to join us in learning more about how Friends of the Children encourages development in some of Portland’s youngest members.

To support our many growing families, we will provide certified childcare during the event (in a separate, enclosed room).  Please assure that the ages of your children are included in your RSVP.

Drawings will be held in support of our fundraising efforts.  Heavy hors d’oeuvres and beverages will also be provided.

Recommended Donation: $15/per person

ConnectPDX is a locally formed business networking group dedicated to supporting the success of our members while also supporting the local community through philanthropic endeavors. We believe that doing good is good business.

Returning Veterans Project NW Receives Light A Fire Award

September 6th, 2007

Returning Veterans Resource Project NW has been chosen as a 2007 Light A Fire Award recipient.

Portland Monthly, in partnership with the Oregon Community Foundation, established the Light A Fire Awards in 2005 as a way to honor and celebrate the critical work of local nonprofits — and individuals who support the work of local nonprofits — particularly those organizations that tend to operate out of the public spotlight.
15 awards are given: seven to individuals and eight to nonprofits.

RVRPNW received the award in the category: PURELY FOR THE LOVE.

The November issue of Portland Monthly will include an editorial feature about Light a Fire Award recipients.
